The “Secure Future” (Cyber Security for VET and SMEs) Project Launch Conference, held on December 12, 2024, was attended by IT teachers, cybersecurity academics, representatives of civil society organizations, and SME representatives. The program began with opening speeches by Kadir Fatih MUTLU, EU and Foreign Relations Coordinator of Istanbul Governorship, and A. Tamer KAMBER, Head of Vocational Education of the Provincial Directorate of National Education. Prof. Dr. Serhan YARKAN from Istanbul Commerce University addressed the participants on the “Importance of Cybersecurity Education for Vocational Training and SMEs.” Presentations by the EU and Foreign Relations Office elaborated on the project outputs, emphasizing the significance of cybersecurity in vocational education.
The primary goal of the “Secure Future” Project is to develop ECVET-based training content in cybersecurity and provide an up-to-date educational opportunity with EU-wide validity for vocational education students in the field of information technology and SME staff working in related fields.
